  1. Discovery – a thorough examination of all information relevant to the specific activity, e.g. acquisition, expansion, merger, transition, upgrade

  2. Analysis – the information is then reviewed and measured against organizational benchmarks (otherwise industry standards)

  3. Recommendations – options are then presented in order of best match relative to organizational objectives
